About Us

So what inspired us to create Quantock?

It all started as an idea formed when developing supply chains and understanding the movement of product from overseas clothing factories to ports for onward shipment to countries such as ours.

The scale of operations and distances involved made us think. Why do we always seem to make clothes abroad?

Are we no longer a great nation of makers? What happens when wages in all these supplying countries catch up with UK wages? What about all the time and cost it takes to move all these goods before they're even sold? What about the impact on the environment?

And so the idea was born...

More than just a dream

To turn that idea into something more than a pipedream of making clothes in this country, we would need to establish an ethos of what we stand for.

We took inspiration from the simplicity of Carl W Buechner's quote:

"People may well forget what you say to them.

People may well forget what you do to them,

but they will never forget how you made them feel."

For us, making our customers feel special is all about you knowing you have bought a high quality and desirable product that is Made in England.

Made in England to the high standards you rightly expect of us and Made in England by passionate and skilled people.

Our Service

All of the above is backed up with our simple and understated desire to serve. Service that makes every touch point straightforward and focused on you, the Customer.  We want you to have an exceptional experience with Quantock - and nothing less.

On those rare occasions when we don’t get it right, we will wow you with our recovery and always ask the question “how can we do even better?” and never “was everything alright?”

Simple, not complicated - service born out of our ethos.

With the ethos indoctrinated, we would need to give ourselves a name to reflect who we are.

We chose Quantock. The word is derived from the Celtic language that names the Quantock Hills in North Somerset, England - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and great history that epitomises our English heritage.

We are proud of our heritage - it is something that makes us feel good about who we are.
